During a recent holiday in America, by sheer co-incidence, I heard of a young Irishman who is studying for the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Boston. John O'Dowd hails from Tullamore Co. Offaly and worked for several years as an engineer in the Boston area. I lived with John in Dublin from 1989-1991 but lost contact with him for the past 28 years. He did not know I was a priest and I didn't know where on earth he was, let alone that he too was preparing for the priesthood.
