TO THE RAVEN POINT, AFTER A STORM

God in the wind has been busy at the beach.

Here is the turquoise lagoon, there a pebble-jewelled sand-spit.

The wooden sea-barrier battered and breached

stands noble in acceptance of a stronger power.

The last wind from the north has blown the sand again

to the south, forming and reforming the dunes:

angular where the sand banks slip,

crescents and curves where the soft wind smoothes.

It blows where it will, God’s spirit.

Embrace the wind, flow with God’s spirit in the wind,

and shapes wonderful beyond our imaginings

emerge to beautify the world.
