A Prayer of Surrender
Lord, I place my life in your hands,
I entrust myself and my troubles to your care,
I acknowledge you as my crucified Lord and Saviour,
Master and Redeemer.
You stand at the door of my heart and knock,
I now open that door and ask you to please come in
Your gift is mercy, forgiveness and eternal life.
Help me to hear what you want me to hear,
To say what you want me to say,
To know what you want me to know,
To be where you want me to be,
To do what you want me to do.
I commit myself joyfully to your work,
Knowing that your power working through me,
Can do infinitely more,
Than I could ever ask, dream or imagine.
Don’t let me get in your way,
And don’t let me die until my work is done!
To you, O Lord, be the glory,
The honour and the praise,
In my life and through all generations.
