In today's Gospel, Jesus compares sadness with the joy he wishes his disciples to enjoy. He tells them that all sadness and suffering is temporary whereas the joy we have in Him is everlasting: 'You are sad now but I shall see you again and your hearts will be full of joy. And that joy no one shall take from you'. What a wonderful message of hope and encouragement!
