Friends, in the Gospel today, Jesus affirms faith in the resurrection and the life of heaven. He uses the opportunity to teach about the life hereafter, something we all wonder about. He tells us that there will be no marriage in heaven as its citizens will be like angels, united in glory and light and adoring God. This reminds us that all our vocations here on earth, be they to marriage, priesthood or single life, are all oriented towards holiness and are in preparation for the life of heaven or eternal life with God. Married couples are meant to help the other grow in holiness and help the other to grow in their relationship with the Lord.
