Friends, today is the feast of St Barnabas who was a missionary companion of St Paul. Scripture describes him as a good man, filled with the Holy Spirit and as the 'son of encouragement'. The Bible also tells us that he won many souls for the Lord through his missionary efforts. Today we invoke the prayers and example of St Barnabas to help us be good missionaries for the faith like him. That we too may be sons and daughters of encouragement, be good people, filled with the Holy Spirit and that we might win many friends for God.
