Friends, in today's Gospel Jesus presents us again with one of the most challenging aspects of being his disciples - learning to forgive others and loving those who hate us. There is much we could say about how we can even begin to do this but what we can say is that it is impossible without the example and spirit of Jesus himself. As they crucified him he prayed to the Father to 'Forgive them for they know not what they do'. Jesus treated and loved everyone the same irrespective of whether they loved him back or not. This is our starting point too.
