SYNODAL SUNDAY REFLECTION FOR NINETEENTH SUNDAY OF ORDINARY TIME

Fr Gerry O'Hanlon SJ

This Sunday Gerry O'Hanlon, SJ, member of the National Steering Committee of the Irish Synodal Pathway, shares a story about his formidable nana who had the instinctive sense of faith of the ordinary people; the presence of God in the gentle breeze of a good conscious. Gerry invites us to consider the fear of the disciples in the stormy waters in this Sunday's Gospel and how the presence of Jesus and his words of encouragement enabled them and now us to confront, and not avoid, the headwind that faces us as a Church; to go out into the deep.
