THIS WEEK'S INTERVIEW WITH MS. TANYA SAVELIEVA - UKRAINIAN CITIZEN LIVING IN IRELAND

Tanya Savelieva is a young Ukrainian woman who has been living in Castlebridge, Wexford, since March 2022. She and her husband and mother-in-law fled Ukraine shortly after the outbreak of war in February 2022. Since coming to Ireland, Tanya has gained employment as a TEFL (Teaching English as a foreign language) teacher at CBS Primary School here in Wexford. She is an invaluable member of the school staff who also serves and helps as an interpreter for other Ukrainian pupils and their parents. In this interview, Tanya gives us an insight into how her life changed rapidly following Russia's invasion of Ukraine and shares her experience of living in Ireland. We feature this interview to mark the 109th World Day for Migrants and Refugees.
