THIS WEEK'S INTERVIEW WITH JIM MC GOVERN

This week's interview is with Jim McGovern, a native of Co. Longford but living for many years in the parish of Glynn in Co. Wexford. For more than thirty years, Jim was a secondary school teacher at St Mary's CBS Enniscorthy where he taught religion and history. He has a keen interest in sport and mental health and was involved for many years in coaching students for debating and public speaking. In February this year, Jim published a book: 'Stand up, speak out: a memoir of a public speaking and debating tutor'. It is published by Three Sisters Press.

Here Jim reflects on his life thus far, on his teaching career and on important issues such as mental health, education , discipline, sport and public speaking.
