MASS READINGS FOR SATURDAY 6TH JUNE 2020

Friends, in today's Gospel, Jesus commends the poor woman who had contributed less to the treasury in monetary terms but far more than the others did because she gave all she had and gave it with great love. Jesus recognises in the woman's generosity a reflection of his own generosity and the loving self-giving of God. He also teaches us again that what matters is not so much the amount we give to charity but the love with which we give it. Also that what matters is not what we give but what we keep back for ourselves. Here lies the real challenge to grow in charity and to become more Christ like.
