The Focolare movement in Ireland will host its next community gathering at the Focolare Centre in Curryhills, Prosperous, Co. Kildare, on Sunday, 19 April, from 12.00 noon to 3.30pm.  All are welcome.

The event is part of a series of regular meetings that have become a familiar feature of the Focolare community across Ireland.  Bringing together people of all ages, these gatherings focus on shared reflection, open dialogue, and building connections through simple fellowship.  Rooted in the Movement’s spirituality of unity, the meetings provide a welcoming space where participants can share everyday experiences while fostering a deeper sense of community.

Organisers say the upcoming event comes at a time when global uncertainty, rising tensions, and increased investment in arms and defence underscore the need for initiatives that promote peace and understanding.

Focolare Centre Coordinator Ann Gavin highlighted the importance of such gatherings, saying they offer “a small but real response” to division by creating opportunities for people to listen, care, and reconnect with values of peace and dialogue.  She added that unity begins through these simple encounters and grows through relationships.

Previous meetings at Curryhills have been described by attendees as having a “family-like warmth,” offering a sense of belonging and renewed hope.  The theme of this month’s gathering, A New Start, reflects both the spirit of the spring season and a shared desire to respond positively to contemporary challenges.

All are welcome to attend.  Participants are invited to bring a packed lunch, with tea and coffee provided.  Mass will follow the event at 3.30pm.
