A PRAYER FOR POPE FRANCIS

'Loving Father,

We entrust to you the soul of your servant, Pope Francis, who dedicated his life to serving you and guiding your Church.

Thank you for sending him to remind us that you are the God of mercy whose love desires to unite us to You.

Thank you for sending him as a prophet for the poor and outcast.

Thank you for his strong voice on our duty to care for the earth our common home.

Thank you for sending him to remind us that the Church is a family where everyone is accepted, loved, forgiven and called on mission.

Grant him eternal rest, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rejoice in your presence, reunited with the saints and all who have gone before us in faith. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
