Often we hear the expression 'he had his demons' about someone who fought an addiction. While the description of an addiction as a demon is entirely appropriate, the truth is that all of us are and will be subject to attacks by our own demons, whatever they might be. But do not despair for we are in good company! St Anthony and many great saints fought their demons too and were triumphant with God's grace. Even Christ himself battled with Satan in the desert.
