REMINDER - 'EVANGELISING IRISH CULTURE TODAY' - A ZOOM CONFERENCE FOR THE MONTH OF OCTOBER

Dear friends. Just a gentle reminder of the two Zoom conferences coming up this week. The first is on Tuesday 13th October at 8pm and is being led by Fr Michael Drumm on the topic of 'Mission and Education'. The second on Thursday 15th October is being led by Steve Warner on the topic of 'Mission and Music'. To take part, just send an email to thehookoffaith@gmail.com

and we will send you the link to the Zoom meeting

For the missionary month of October, a nationwide Zoom Conference will be held that will focus on evangelising Irish culture today. In 'The Joy of the Gospel', Pope Francis said that ‘it is imperative to evangelise cultures in order to inculturate the Gospel. In countries of Catholic tradition, this means encouraging, fostering and reinforcing a richness which already exists’ (The Joy of the Gospel, 69). This initiative is a response to that directive and tries to shine the light of the Gospel on the most important areas of Irish cultural life including medicine, law, science, the media, politics, family, education, sport and diocese/parish. Each session will be led by an expert speaker followed by 10 mins of Q and A.  Each session will begin at 8pm. To participate in any or all of the conferences, please email thehookoffaith@gmail.com and the address and password for the meeting will be sent to you. The event is brought to you 'The Hook of Faith'

In this interview, Patricia McNally talks to Fr Billy Swan from 'The Hook of Faith' about the conference - what are the hopes for it, the topics and list of expert speakers.
