MORE INPUTS FROM OIREACHTAS COMMITTEE ON EUTHANASIA

We report here on an insightful input to the Oireachtas Committee on Euthanasia, given by a respected doctor.

Prof. Feargal Twomey spoke on behalf of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland who told the committee that assisted suicide and euthanasia are contrary to best medical practice. The only true safeguard for seriously ill people is that the law does not change, he said.

Here is the link to Dr Twomey's input courtesy of the Iona Institute. Below is also an interview with Dr Twomey who clarifies further his reasons why changing the law on euthanasia would undermine the basic principles of health-care.
