THE CATHOLIC VISION OF THE HUMAN PERSON

By Fr Chris Hayden

Fr Chris Hayden, a priest of the diocese of Ferns and Spiritual Director of St Patrick’s College, Maynooth, addressed a meeting of the Iona Institute on the topic of the Catholic vision of the human person, which among other things addressed what Catholicism has to say about relationships and sexuality.  Is the Catholic vision ‘repressive’ as critics say, or is it, in fact, more compatible with human flourishing and welfare? Fr Hayden argued that it is, especially in view of the fact that ever more evidence is at hand which shows that the ‘sex revolution’ is delivering less happiness, not more.
