Níall McDonagh, from Rahoon in Galway, died on Tuesday 27 October after battling cancer.

One tribute paid to him was the following:

Through his powerful witness, many have been deeply moved and inspired by his firm faith, courage, and perseverance in the face of suffering.

“Níall’s ministry and service to the Church touched countless lives across the world. His steadfast love for the Lord and his commitment to sharing the Gospel have left a lasting legacy that will continue to bear fruit for years to come.

“Níall will be remembered as a faithful servant of Christ who ran his race with courage and fidelity. We trust that he now joins St Paul in proclaiming: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:7).

May he rest in peace.
