THE SEASON OF CREATION - YOUTH RESOURCES
The ‘Season of Creation’ began on 1 September 2026, and continues until 4 October, the Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi. To mark the occasion, Trócaire’s Church Team has launched a range of youth resources to help primary and post-primary students engage with the themes of creation and care for our common home.
Introducing these new youth resources for the Season of Creation, Deirbhile Craven, Church Youth Officer with Trócaire, said, “For this year’s Season of Creation we have developed resources around the theme of living water for schools and youth groups. The first resource is a digital info graphic packed with digital activities such as interactive quizzes, videos and action tasks for young people to help them reflect on the gift of water. For primary and post-primary schools, we have created assemblies around the theme of living water, exploring this theme through concepts such as water justice, Laudato Si’, and the importance of caring for water here at home in our own local communities. These assemblies are ready to go as a standalone season of creation event, or you can adapt them and edit them to suit your whole school assembly as you start the new year, grounding yourselves in an ethos of caring for creation.”
