THIS WEEK'S INTERVIEW - MARY ELLEN HAWKEY

During a recent mission, Wexford Parish hosted an evening on 'Care for the Earth' at Clayton Whites Hotel. The evening was organised by 'Wexford Parish Care for the Earth' group and was facilitated by Ms. Mary Ellen Hawkey and Mr. Noel Culleton. The speakers on the evening were Bishop Ger Nash, retired meteorologist Gerald Fleming and former Green Party Leader Rev. Trevor Sargent.

Later, we caught up with Mary Ellen Hawley who explained the background to the evening, the formation of the 'Care for the Earth Group' in Wexford and Pope Francis' groundbreaking 2015 encyclical 'Laudato Si.
